Family matters and why your businesses should become part of ours
Being ‘a family’ is a phrase lots of businesses promote as a means of trying to show a team’s dynamic but rarely is it true.
Here at GTS UK we’re a team of 15 and our ethos is centred on family values – originating from the family at the heart of the business.
Our managing director, Tony Prescott, launched GTS Logistics UK in 2015 with the aim of combining first-class customer service with decades of logistics experience in order to create an all-encompassing Intermodal, Customs, Supply Chain Management and Trucking business to help companies move to green transport solutions for supply chains in Europe and beyond. From that point on, our transformative approach to the industry was born.
Tony was joined on the journey by his wife, Kate. As our commercial administrator, she meticulously manages all our administrative requirements and ensures our team has everything it needs to delight our customers. Kate has been instrumental in implementing our ISO standards and also providing ideas and support as we develop the business.
Tony and Kate’s daughter Rosie joined the business during the Covid-19 pandemic as business development manager and adapted incredibly quickly to her new role, having started her working life with high-end jewellery firms across the north of England. In 2022, Rosie secured over €2.6m of business using her ability to develop strong customer relationships to help us towards our ambitious targets and this is just the start!
Tony, Kate and Rosie are key to our success, and they are the basis on which our extended GTS family – both clients and teammates - have been able to flourish. This togetherness allows us to be the most effective communicators who work closely to deliver for our wide-ranging list of customers. Much like a family, building long-term relationships is a priority and, from this platform, we can focus on delivering a reliable service with a positive, solution-focused approach.
