Q&A with our Commercial Administrator, Kate

This week we’re showcasing Kate who has been an integral part of our Administration department for over 3 years. Find out all about her role in this Q&A.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?

‘My day at work consists of monitoring progress of loads in transit and updating trackers for key accounts. I fulfill ISO tasks, provide admin support for the MD and complete monthly revenue reports amongst other tasks.

I mainly provide backroom support and don’t get too involved with the customers, I leave this to the rest of the team who are dedicated to providing the best quality customer service.’

What’s your background?

‘Before I started with GTS UK, I had an admin / insurance role in the public sector.’

How did you get into the industry?

‘I joined my husband (Managing Director, Tony) to provide admin functions to the growing business.’

What have you learnt during your time with GTS?

‘I’ve learnt that logistics is a very fast moving industry, business is constantly adapting to embrace external factors so we always have to stay one step ahead to provide the best class service.’

Why are you passionate about the industry?

‘I love that logistics is an essential service which influences everyday life and green transport solutions can make a positive impact on the environment in comparison. At GTS UK we often recommend Intermodal to our clients to benefit both their business and the planet.’

What are you most proud of about the service you deliver to customers?

‘Our team have many years of experience and know what they are doing, so we can always find solutions for our customers. They take pride in all of their tasks and that makes me proud to be on the team!’

What are you most looking forward to in your career?

‘Being involved in a successful, dynamic business with an environmental conscience. As well as working with enthusiastic, committed colleagues who feel valued and satisfied in their work. The sky's the limit!’
