Can you describe your new role as General Manager?

'I have recently joined GTS UK in the role of General Manager, this gives me overall responsibility for the operational performance, compliance, and profitability of each of our business segments.’

What’s your background? How did you get into the industry?

'I started my career in Logistics aged 18, after leaving college. Most of my friends decided to go to university, but I thought it would be a better idea to get some ‘hands on’ experience through starting work in a prominent local industry. I initially joined a small family-owned haulage company and learnt the ropes, then progressed from there!’

Why are you passionate about the industry?

'I love the idea that we are keeping the country well stocked! We also have such an ability to make a difference to the future of the planet, by ensuring we always operate our business in a climate responsible way. This is a responsibility we take very seriously at GTS, and forms one of our core values.

What are you most proud of about the service you deliver to customers?

‘Every member of our team has a fantastic attitude towards their work, and this is something we are incredibly proud of. We are a team that will happily go above and beyond to ensure our service consistently exceeds the customers’ expectations. This positivity also makes for a very rewarding work environment and allows each member of our team to reach their full potential.’

What attracted you to a role at GTS?

‘I initially met with Tony Prescott – and the clear vision, professionalism and expertise the company has been built on jumped straight out at me. This is very obviously a company that does things the right way, and I’m proud to now be a member of the team.’

What are you most looking forward to in your career?

‘I love to learn! I see every day as an opportunity to further my knowledge of the way the world works. I hope that the knowledge I gain through experience can allow GTS to continue an upward trajectory, and in turn we can continue to provide the highest levels of service to our customers.’
