Tarragona office now open

We’re delighted to announce that GTS Iberia has a new home, perfectly placed to provide local expertise across Spain and Portugal.

We launched GTS Iberia back in June to give customers a harmonious experience with their logistics requirements through this region and beyond.

We appointed local expert Sergi as our Country Manager. He brings a wealth of knowledge in the international transport sector, specifically in the Iberia area. Sergi has been utilising his experience over the past few months to get the business off the ground and provide solutions / build customer relationships with our Iberian-based customers.

With the help of Sergi we’ve found a new base for the business - an office based in Tarragona.

Why Tarragona?

Tarragona is an ideal location to support logistics across Spain and Portugal. It’s just 60 miles southwest of Barcelona and is home to one of the largest ports in the Mediterranean. It is also a key chemical industry hub.

As well as the port, Tarragona has other fantastic connectivity routes: it’s surrounded by various airports, the closest being Reus just under 5 miles away. It also has an established and successful dedicated freight line with strong expansion potential. The area boasts some of the best logistics operations in Spain!

Tarragona opens even more doors for our UK customers with their world-famous food companies, such as providers of olive oil and Priorat wine, for example.

A look forward for GTS Iberia

With our new office comes new staff… we’ve recently had our second member join the team. Marc has on-boarded as Operations Manager and brings over 20 years experience in the industry with him.

We’re proud to have two dedicated and highly experienced individuals heading up the region, ready to take things to the next level.

Some exciting plans to expand GTS Iberia include:

  • Setting up Trucking, Customs and Supply Chain Management services

  • Investing in intermodal terminals across Catalonia

  • Running our own trains through Portugal and Spain

If you need logistics in the area, please get in touch with Sergi: s.gomez@gtslogistic.com
