The advantages of becoming a HGV driver

Thinking about becoming a heavy goods vehicle driver? Then this blog is for you, we’re covering all the pros of the job.

Plenty of work available
The haulage industry is a key part of our economy, so any disruptions are felt by everyone. Over the last couple of years, the UK has seen a shortage in HGV drivers which means there has never been a better time to break into the industry. There are plenty of opportunities available, in fact, we’re recruiting right now!

Earning potential
As there’s such a high demand for drivers, salaries have increased and there is a great deal of room for career progression and development. Most companies will offer promotions with experience.

Paid to travel
As well as driving across the UK, HGV drivers can take on work in other countries. You’ll be visiting new places, seeing new cities and meeting new people, unlike any other job.

Job security
Goods transportation is always going to be in high demand, so if you’re looking for a long-term job with security then it’s definitely a good choice.

Freedom
If you prefer to work alone rather than with lots of other people then it’s an ideal choice for you. You have lots of independence and the flexibility in choosing your own breaks / deciding when you eat / sleep without others telling you to do so.
