Sam excels in his apprenticeship and becomes a full-time team member
We’re so pleased to announce that Sam has passed his apprenticeship with us and is now a full-time member of our team as Supply Chain Specialist.
Sam not only passed with the highest possible grade – full distinction – but also won top prize at the recent Grimsby College Apprenticeship Awards!
Lewis Duckworth, our General Manager, said: “As our first Supply Chain Apprentice, Sam seamlessly integrated into our team, quickly earning the full trust of all his colleagues. He has consistently exceeded expectations in all areas of his work, readily embracing responsibility from day one.”
“He is fully deserving of both his apprenticeship distinction grade and his award win. Sam has shown himself fully to represent the qualities we value at GTS UK, and we are delighted he accepted our offer to stay on with the team.”

How does it feel to have passed your apprenticeship?
It feels great to have passed, and it feels good to be able to focus on my new role fully. I’ve been revising the past few months as much as I could, so It’s been hard, but the feeling you get when it’s all complete is great!
What have you learnt over the last six months?
The last six months have been very busy - which is good! I think you learn a lot more about the industry when it’s busy. I’ve also learnt a lot from everyone in the office, who have all been great with me since the day I started.
What will your role as a Supply Chain Specialist involve?
It’ll involve working predominantly in the haulage arm of the business; however, I’ve experienced most parts of the business in the past year so I could potentially be involved in anything.
What are you looking forward to in your new role?
I’m looking forward to growing within a hugely successful company and working with our great team. It’s good to see more and more new faces join the business, so hopefully we can continue growing!
